Stepdad - "My Leather, My Fur, My Nails" & EP

So you might think this song is weird.
Then you play it again.
Then again.
At this point you are smiling widely and full out jamming to this track. This is one of the songs on Stepdad's first EP. They have quite the "video game" sound to their songs which keeps their songs upbeat, fun, and always leaving you in a good mood.

Chiddy Bang is doing there thing here, as usual, but for this track they partnered up with Mac Miller. You may not have heard of him, but he is quickly becoming a recurring subject for music bloggers and indi-rap fiends alike. In other words, you'll here about him again soon. or now...if you want to hear his whole mixtape "Best Day Ever". You can download any or all songs from soundcloud.

Anyway, this song brings back the classic "Heatwave" by Martha & The Vandellas. A great song to be released before Summer.

Brenton Duvall - Time For What You Want (Notorious B.I.G. vs Semisonic)

I got hooked on Brenton as soon as I heard "Against A Mad World."  Though it remains to be my favorite by him, this song is a close second. Semisonic's hit "Closing Time" is set as the backbeat meloldy and it will continuously make you want to start singing the chorus, but B.I.G. keeps chiming in with his rough and tough hardcore vocals, making you bounce to the new musical concoction Mr. Duvall has shakin' up for us.

BIG HISTORY

I can't wait to watch this band's rise to fame.
With their top notch vocals, they remain inexplicably underexposed.
Though they are under two years old, I still wonder how they haven't been signed yet. If Meg Roussel's sultry vocals weren't enough to captivate you, Big History's smooth electro-pop sound should keep you tapping your feet while making you feel warm and fuzzy inside. I'd say this band could be considered the love child of Adele and The Temper Trap.
They come from New Orleans, and as a NOLA resident myself, it pains me to say that I haven't seen them live yet. But they are playing at The Republic April 15, so perhaps then.

G-Eazy hails from Oakland, Cali and graduated with a degree in music from Loyola University in New Orleans.
