This is funky. Almost in a fantastically funky RETRO way,
yet it’s still grasping current trends.
It’s super hard to listen to this and not move your head to the beat. Or at least a limb. By the third second I’m already grooving. This is another fun reworking from the New Orleans transplant, William Carney, whom I interviewed at this year’s Buku Music & Art Project.
It’s technically the Carneyval remix of
the Celeste Stoney cover of
the James Blake original
hit, “Retrograde”.
